Expansion of no-tillage practice in conservation agriculture in Brazil

چکیده

Brazil is one of the countries in which practice No-Tillage (NT) has been most widely implemented as three fundamental ecological principles Conservation Agriculture (CA), crucial for sustainability national agriculture. The first official data on use this were collected Agricultural Census 2006 and after that again 2017. For time country’s history these surveys provided primary made possible an analysis dynamics adoption NT within development CA systems. Data supplied by special tabulation showed expansion throughout country was strongly associated with soybean-based cropping systems involving crops such maize, wheat or cotton. In other words, improved soil moisture conditions generated additional growing period permitted incorporation soybean crop into where it not before. increase area substantial Mato Grosso state, but also evident region called MATOPIBA (comprising states Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí Bahia), i.e., current agricultural frontier country, well Rio Grande do Sul. regions had already become common management system, e.g., South, occurred together systems, showing important Brazil, economic terms. Wildlife Damage in Conservation Tillage Agriculture: a New Challenge

Conservation-tillage farming systems have changed agriculture and brought new challenges to the wildlife damage field. Associated minor problems may result from the presence of rattlesnakes (Crotalus viridis) or badgers (Taxidea taxus), but sprout-pulling damage by birds has not been reported. Rodents dig and consume newly planted corn. At least 14 small mammal species have been captured in not...

Furrow diking in conservation tillage

Crop production in the Southeastern U.S. can be limited by water; thus, supplemental irrigation is needed to sustain profitable crop production. Increased water capture would efficiently improve water use and reduce supplemental irrigation amounts/costs, thus improving producer’s profit margin. We quantified infiltration (INF), runoff (R), and sediment (E) losses from furrow diked (+DT) and non...

Green Subsidies in Agriculture: Estimating the Adoption Costs of Conservation Tillage from Observed Behavior

Because of payoff uncertainties combined with risk aversion and/or real options, farmers may demand a premium in order to adopt conservation tillage practices, over and above the compensation for the expected profit losses (if any). We propose a method of directly estimating the financial incentives for adopting conservation tillage and distinguishing between the expected payoff and premium of ...

Principal Component Analysis for Soil Conservation Tillage vs Conventional Tillage in Semi Arid Region of Punjab Province of Pakistan

Principal component analysis is a valid method used for data compression and information extraction in a given set of experiments. It is a well-known classical data analysis technique. There are a number of algorithms for solving the problems, some scaling better than others. Wheat ranks as the staple food of most of the nations as well as an agent of poverty reduction, food security and world ...
